JAMESTOWN — Six years ago, Isaac Mimong was a senior in high school and captain of the Jamestown High School tennis team.

Now, he's involved in a whole new way.

Mimong was recently named the new head coach of the Jamestown High School boys tennis team, taking over for former head coach Tim Ranum. The JHS Class of 2020 graduate has been an assistant coach for the boys tennis squad since the 2023 season.

"Tennis is just something I have a lot of good memories with and I have really enjoyed it so I want to continue with it," Mimong said. "... I put my name in for the job after Coach Ranum told me that he would not be continuing with it. I got the job earlier this summer towards the end of the girls season."

After a summer's worth of planning, Mimong officially began his new job on Aug. 4.
