GRAND FORKS, N.D. – “Crack the code 2.0” was the message U.S. Sen. John Hoeven shared Wednesday during a discussion on efforts to get more oil out of the Bakken through enhanced oil recovery.
Hoeven hosted U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the University of North Dakota Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) for a roundtable discussion with the state’s energy producers, along with Gov. Kelly Armstrong, Rep. Julie Fedorchak, and other state, local and university officials, to talk about policies outlined in President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act (OB3) that align incentives to encourage partnerships between coal and oil producers to both double the oil recovery rate and double the life of coal-fired electric power plants.
