Texas Democrats who fled the state to torpedo a vote on redistricting are quietly making plans to return home, according to reports.
Dozens of state representatives, who left the state to block a redraw of congressional boundaries pushed by Donald Trump , apparently believe they have accomplished their mission by drawing national awareness to the issue, according to ABC News.
Their return will almost inevitably mean the redrawn congressional maps will pass, granting Republicans extra seats that could allow them to keep their narrow majority in the House of Representatives.
Democrats are expected to return home this weekend after a special session convened by Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, to pass the new boundaries expires.
They boarded chartered planes on Aug 3 for New York
