Jason Momoa was so proud of his son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa that he started crying while watching him perform in Dune: Part Three. The Aquaman actor, who plays Duncan Idaho in the sci-fi series, became emotional watching his 16-year-old son in his debut acting role as Leto II Atreides, the son of Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides and Zendaya's Chani. During an appearance on this week's SmartLess podcast, Momoa recalled his pride while watching Nakoa-Wolf shoot his first scene in Budapest, Hungary last month. "His first goddamn scene, I'm sitting there, sh**ting my pants," he shared. "My baby, 16 years old. He just killed it. I was crying, I was a f**king wreck. I was so proud of him. "(Director Denis Villeneuve) loves Wolf and he's just doing a great job. It's just the craziest feeling. I'm like, 'God damn it, dude.' I just didn't want him to do it, but I'm not going to lie to you, he's so good." Momoa added that his son was "so present" in his scenes that he feels like he's "gonna blow (him) away" in the acting department. He also confirmed that he wasn't in the scene, as he wasn't needed on set as Duncan until 1 August. The Minecraft Movie actor previously defended his son's casting, insisting he landed the role "all on his own". However, on the podcast, Momoa explained that he sent one of the Dune producers a reel of Nakoa-Wolf's martial arts skills, hoping that he'd land a background role as a member of the Fremen and "do some fight scenes". But the producers came back and revealed they were still casting for Paul and Chani's twins and encouraged the teenager to put himself on tape for the role. He was then invited to do a three-and-a-half-hour screen test with Villeneuve and five girls in London. Momoa insisted he was "stressed out" waiting outside the room, but "this kid killed it and he did it on his own. I didn't help him at all. And I'm doing f**king Dune with my son right now." Production on Dune: Part Three kicked off last month, and the film is due to be released in December 2026.
