Eight long-closed premises across South Ayrshire are set to have their alcohol licences revoked after years of inactivity, unpaid fees, and, in some cases, complete changes of use. ‌

In a report to the South Ayrshire Licensing Board, the council’s Licensing Standards Officer (LSO) Catrina Andrew will recommend that all eight licences be permanently removed. ‌

She cites prolonged suspension periods, non-payment of annual fees, and the fact that several buildings no longer operate—or even exist—as licensed premises. ‌

Some are cut and dried, with the premises transformed for other use, such as housing.

Premises licences require annual renewal, with follow-up reminders and visits to non-payers.
