Chattanooga police have released video of an officer going above and beyond to save a woman who was stranded in floodwater on Tuesday.
CPD said in a Facebook post that Officer Christopher Dyess didn't hesitate to help a woman who was stuck on a concrete barrier in the middle of I-24.
Video shows Officer Dyess as he carries the woman on his back across the flooded lanes of I-24 until she is safe from the water.
"As the water rose, so did the response from CPD officers. Ofc. Dyess didn’t hesitate to wade in to carry a stranded motorist across the interstate to safety during severe flash flooding on August 12," CPD said.
