CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is facing attempted murder and assault charges after police said he returned to an Uptown Charlotte bar armed with a machete and brass knuckles , attacking two people early Saturday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers were called to 300 S. Brevard St. around 2 a.m. on Aug. 9 for an assault with a deadly weapon. When officers arrived, they reportedly found the victim, identified as Kurt Lee Casey, outside the business with a major laceration to his left hand. Another victim, Jeffrey Vangordon, suffered a minor cut to his right thigh.
