LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The same west Louisville bus stop at 10th and West Chestnut Streets has seen two shootings in a week . The bus stop is a block away from Coleridge-Taylor Montessori Elementary School and Central High School.
No one was injured in the shooting on Aug. 7, however Wednesday morning's shooting was deadly . Around the same time as the shooting a week ago, a woman was shot while walking with a little girl, a student, to the bus stop.
According to emergency responder communications, the woman was shot in the chest and back in front of the library. A memorial now sits at the bus stop where she was shot.
"I can't even imagine how her daughter feels right now," community member Juanisha Saunders said. "She watched her mother get gunned down while she's screaming from a bus
