LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after a shooting late Wednesday evening in the Klondike neighborhood.

At about 11:30 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of Mid Dale Lane, near Klondike Elementary School, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UofL Hospital where he died a few hours after his arrival.

The suspect barricaded himself in his apartment, authorities say. However, he eventually came out of the apartment with no one else injured.

All parties have been accounted for with charges pending against the suspect, police say.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.
