(WIFR) - Mercyhealth reaches an agreement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after employees argued they were discriminated against based on their religion in connection with the health system’s COVID-19 vaccine policy.
The agreement was announced Aug. 13 by the EOCC .
As part of the settlement with the EOCC, Mercyhealth agreed to pay more than $1 million in monetary relief to employees who refused the vaccine and has offered to reinstate the employees that it terminated for refusing to comply with the policy.
