MENTOR, Ohio (WJW) -- Following a crash that shut down a portion of I-90 East for hours Wednesday afternoon, the City of Mentor Police Department offered an update Thursday.
According to police, the multi-vehicle collision led to the death of one man and injured two others.
Emergency responders were called to the area of I-90 East at SR-306 in Mentor around 3:30 p.m. for reports of the crash.
Upon arrival, police said they learned a Jeep ran into a Toyota RAV4, which then hit another vehicle. The Jeep also hit a Ford Focus and the trailer of a semi truck.
Two witnesses reportedly pulled the driver of the Jeep, later identified as 85-year-old James Kephart of Geneva, out of his vehicle. He was taken to MetroHeal
