(WJW) – How many pythons does it take to be crowned the champ? This year it’s 60.

That’s how many Burmese pythons the winning wrangler hunted during Florida’s 2025 Python Challenge.

The uniquely-Florida event has been going on since 2013, with the purpose of helping eradicate some of the invasive snakes and raise awareness about nonnative species.

This year’s event removed a record 294 pythons, according to a press release.

Taylor Stanbery removed 60 pythons during the 10-day event and took the ultimate grand prize.

Some other notable catches: The longest python was captured by a novice. Michael Marousky caught the beast. It was a whopping 15 feet, 11 inches.

Professional Donna Kalil bagged 56 pythons, the second most overall.
