KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Early voting numbers for Knoxville's primary election are down compared to the previous two elections.

As of August 14, 2,002 early votes and 472 absentee ballots have been cast. This means that 2.4% of Knoxville's total of 82,833 registered voters eligible to vote in this election have cast a ballot. In contrast, during the same period in the 2023 August city primary, there were 2,831 votes. This election likely benefited from the mayor being on the ballot. Additionally, in August 2021, the first half of early voting recorded 2,419 votes.
