Easton police are searching for a suspect they say shot a male victim early Thursday and fled during a suspected robbery.
Easton Police Lt. Matthew Gerould said investigators responded to a 911 hang-up call just after 12:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Ferry Street. They found the 35-year-old victim on the street suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The victim is expected to survive his injuries, Gerould said.
Police are searching for the suspect. It’s unclear if the suspect knew the victim.
“It’s too early to comment on that,” Gerould said Thursday afternoon, noting the investigation remains in its preliminary stages.
