The mystery surrounding Stefon Diggs’ injury status for Week 1 of the regular season has not gotten any clearer now that Mike Vrabel has weighed in.

On Thursday, the New England Patriots coach was asked about the curious statement Diggs gave to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini regarding his chances of playing in Week 1. Diggs was cryptic, saying “we’ll see” and that he and Patriots coaches “aren’t too excited.”

A reporter asked Vrabel about Diggs’ statement about how he wasn’t sure if he’d be ready for the season. Vrabel was a bit incredulous in his response.

“Did you really believe that? I mean, you’re a smart guy. I don’t know where you went to school – wasn’t Ohio State," Vrabel said. “Like, do you really believe that ... or are you just trying to bait me into saying something?”
