The inaugural "Taste of Cloverdale" is coming to the Fairgrounds Aug. 20.

Co-hosted by the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce and Surrey Hospice, the event replaces the hospice golf tournament that ran for a few years.

"It's a fundraiser for Surrey Hospice," said Scott Wheatley, executive director of the Cloverdale Chamber.

He said they have 17 vendors booked for the event and they include a mix of food and alcohol.

Wheatley noted event-goers will get to sample fares restaurants and beverage companies in East Surrey.

“Enjoy food and drink tastings from Cloverdale, Clayton, and Campbell Heights restaurants, breweries, wineries,and distilleries,” he said.
