JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Tuesday after changing his plea of not guilty to guilty in the murder of a woman in Jacksonville's Brentwood area, court records show.
Justin Henderson , 36, was sentenced on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence for the murder of Quintasha Ross, who was 26 years old. He had an abuse of a dead body charge dropped as part of the plea deal.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said on June 16, 2024, officers responded to West 41st Street after a witness complained of a foul odor coming from a home on the street. The witness told police she became concerned when Ross had not contacted her in two weeks, Henderson's arrest report states.
