After a three-day trial this week, a jury has acquitted a Pflugerville man who was facing up to 20 years in prison after he was charged with rape in Killeen.
Dyllan Shane Masters, 23, was indicted on Feb. 2, 2022, on a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault. A jury was empaneled on Monday in the 264th Judicial District Court to decide the case. Masters entered a not-guilty plea on Tuesday. Throughout the day on Tuesday, the jury heard testimony from four people — including the accuser and law enforcement officers — as part of the state’s case. The defense did not call anyone to the stand and both sides had rested their cases by the end of the day on Tuesday, according to Bell County court records.
