A new post on an Illinois state website shows a layoff notification for Deere & Co.'s East Moline Harvester Works, but the company did not immediately confirm impending layoffs Thursday.

The Illinois Work Net Center, which records layoffs for the state of Illinois, reported 819 layoffs have occurred since September 2023.

Previous reporting indicates Deere & Co. began laying off employees in October 2023, when it laid off 225 people at the Harvester Works in East Moline. Since then, a total of 725 layoffs at the East Moline plant specifically have been reported. That leaves a discrepancy of 94 jobs.

In an email Thursday morning, a Deere spokesperson said that if more layoffs were to take place, employees would be notified first. No further information was available.
