Every year for my summer birthday, I give out a selection of my favorite sunscreens as party favors. In 2025, Vacation’s Classic Whip SPF 50 was the star. The whipped-cream-like look and texture enthralled my friends, and applying some to their bodies was the cost of entry into the picnic. The formula is fun to put on and smells divine, so nobody complained.
Then imagine my horror when I saw what the Federal Drug Administration wrote on X on August 12: “Beware of sunscreen products in mousse form because they might not be effective. The FDA issued five warning letters to companies marketing sunscreen products in mousse form.” The companies were Supergoop!, Tizo, Kalani, K & Care Organics, and, of course, Vacation. Had I sent my guests home with sunburns and accidental sunscreen ingestio
