PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A group whose mission is to help the people who need it most in Central Illinois celebrated the opening of a new building in Downtown Peoria.
The community, as well as many public officials, gathered as the Children's Home Association of Illinois capped off a long, rigorous process of adding a new building to their services with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The new building is located next to the American Red Cross Building at the 300 block of West John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue. It will house their prevention services division and behavioral health services division, said Curt Mower, the organization's chief program officer.
