Waterfront hotels make ideal summertime getaways and two in New England just ranked among the best in the U.S.

USA Today released a list of the 10 best waterfront hotels in the U.S. on Wednesday, part of its 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards , and Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham ranked No. 2 and Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Madison, Conn. ranked No. 4.

“Whether by a lake or overlooking the sea, there’s something special about vacationing near water,” wrote USA Today , noting that the picks on its list “set the scene for a memorable and relaxing vacation.”

The publication called Cape Cod’s Chatham Bars Inn a “classic New England destination.”
