LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The Kentucky State Fair opened on the grounds of the Expo Center Thursday morning.
Just about an hour before the gates were unlocked, underneath the Kentucky Proud Tent, the annual Commodities Breakfast was held.
The event celebrates the contributions of those who work in and around the state’s agricultural industries.
One of those on hand this morning was Congressman Morgan McGarvey.
"This is the time when the state fair opens, and Kentuckians come together and enjoy our state — its products, its talent — all on display here in Louisville," Rep. McGarvey said.
