Afternoon highs will climb back in the low to mid-90s the next few days
Thursday brought that classic mid-August feel to Central and Eastern Kentucky — warm, sticky, and just a touch unsettled. With a mix of clouds and sunshine, afternoon highs pushed into the upper 80s to near 90° right on par for this time of year. A weak front draped across the region sparked a few isolated storms and like we’ve seen lately, some of them packed a quick burst of heavy rain before fizzling out.
Friday: More Sun, Less Storm Action
By Friday, the fading front will wash out to our south, cutting back storm chances. While an isolated pop-up storm is still possible, most of us will be basking in sunshine. Temperatures will tick up a few degrees with afternoon highs in the low 90s for much of the area and up
