MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Krewe De Riviere and Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parades will both be on the same day in 2026, according to the Monroe Police Department.

MPD said the decision to host both parades on February 7 came after months of collaboration and planning among leaders from both organizations, along with local officials.

“Both Chief Victor Zordan, along with West Monroe Chief Jason Pleasant, carefully considered the pros and cons of having both parades on the same day, and they believe this decision will certainly be beneficial for everyone involved,” MPD said. “Public safety is always at the forefront of making decisions like this, but we also believe having both parades on the same day will be extremely beneficial to the public.”
