DALLAS — The fight for No. 8 is over.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson originally filed a trademark lawsuit in July 2024 against Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman, who also notably wore the No. 8 and uses the number on apparel and bags. FL101, the company behind the Aikman products, has several products featuring "EIGHT," including a light beer brand, but Jackson was only disputing the bags and apparel.
At issue in the lawsuit was only the application to bags and apparel.
The Baltimore Sun was the first to report that the lawsuit had been withdrawn. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) confirmed to WFAA that the lawsuit had been withdrawn and the case was dismissed by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
