ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Two minors were taken into custody in relation to the shooting death of a teen in Mehlville.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department (SLCPD), officials were alerted to reports of gunfire around 7 p.m. in the 2200 block of Union Road on July 25.
When police arrived at the scene, they located 19-year-old Daniel Douglas, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. First responders transported Douglas to the hospital, but he died from his injuries.
SLCPD says both minors, who are aged 16 and 17, were charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
They remain held at the St. Charles County Family Court, as SLCPD's investigation into the homicide remains ongoing.
