TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — “I love walking into the stores and seeing the school supplies,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield .

The new school year is approaching, and although students are off in the summer, the State Department of Education has prepped for the upcoming school year. A lot of that work was recertifying teachers.

“We are gearing up for how we support our students, educators, families, etc. when school gets going, so summer is a busy time at the Department of Education,” explained Critchfield. “Our educators, although they are out of the classroom, they’re still engaged in learning. There’s a lot of professional development and classes, and conferences.”
