ALLEN PARK, Michigan — New Miami Dolphins safety Ifeatu Melifonwu had a contentious pair of joint practices with his former team in the Detroit Lions, to say the least.

But after Wednesday’s first session ended in a skirmish between him and an ex-teammate, wide receiver Jameson Williams, Melifonwu got the last laugh in the final Miami defensive rep of the two days of work.

In a simulated two-minute drill scenario with the Lions offense trailing by four and needing a touchdown, Detroit quarterback Jared Goff, on a play that started with 2 seconds left, threw to the end zone.
