Syracuse firefighters rescue mother, daughter from apartment fire

Syracuse, N.Y. — Two people were taken to a hospital after a fire Thursday afternoon in a Syracuse apartment.

A woman was trapped with her daughter in their unit at Rugby Square Apartments at 109 Fordham Road, according to Deputy Fire Chief James Farewell. The fire was called in at about 2:20 p.m.
