SEDALIA, Mo. —

A 16-year-old girl reported missing in an Amber Alert out of Sedalia is safe, and the suspect is in custody, the Missouri Highway Patrol said Thursday.

Makayla Story was found after an alert was issued earlier on Thursday. Advertisement

She was believed to have left her residence in Pettis County with her father, 52-year-old Brice Story.

He was taken into custody without incident.
