COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Irmo , the Southeast Region champions, are advancing after rolling over New England 13-0 on Thursday.

After scoring two runs in the first inning, Irmo extended the lead to 4-0 after a wild pitch and a line drive from Preston Ware,

In the second inning, third baseman Joe Giulietti smashed a grand slam, hitting the first home run in the World Series so far and bringing the score to 8-0.

Two wild pitches and an errant throw in the third inning led to scores, extending the lead to 13-0.

A groundout sealed the deal for Irmo, due to New England being run-ruled after failing to close the lead after four innings.

Irmo advances to face the winner of the Northwest vs. Mountain game on Monday, August 18.
