SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - One person died days after a crash in Sumter County, according to officials.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck happened Aug. 8 on Interstate 95, just east of Mayesville. SCHP said a 2024 Ford Mustang was south on the interstate when it ran off the road to the left and hit a tree.

Troopers added that the driver was taken to a hospital, where they died on Aug. 10. The driver was also the only person in the vehicle.
