SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA— Fresh off a thrilling win over defending 2024 LLWS champion Lake Mary in the Southeast Regional final, Irmo LL of South Carolina cruised past Braintree LL of Massachusetts — the New England Region champion — 13-0 in one-hit fashion in each team’s Williamsport opener on Thursday.
After Irmo held Braintree scoreless in the top of the first, Andrew Bogan — the son of team manager David Bogan—opened the scoring via a sacrifice fly with no outs and the bases loaded. Rider Tellis followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0, forcing Massachusetts starter’s to throw more than 30 pitches before the inning ended.
