STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella spoke Thursday afternoon in the gymnasium of Staten Island Academy to mark the end of this year’s run of Sunrise Day Camp.
The Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp, operated by the Staten Island Jewish Community Center, serves children with cancer, and their siblings.
Its mission is to offer a safe environment for campers to enjoy fun summer activities that they might not otherwise get to experience. Activities range from arts and crafts to sports and swimming.
