LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A lawsuit filed in April details an alleged scam ring happening at a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Licensing Office in Louisville. It claims the employee who reported it was fired for speaking up, so now state leaders want answers.
The complaint, filed in Jefferson Circuit Court, says former employee Melissa Moorman learned two fellow employees, “were creating and providing documents such as driver’s licenses and permits to nonresidents without running the proper screenings concerning immigration status, and they were instead collecting the money that was supposed to be for the screenings and pocketing it.”
Moorman worked at the license office located inside the NIA Center in west Louisville.
