Five beagles who were rescued from a hoarding situation in northwestern Massachusetts are now ready for adoption to a new, loving home.
The five dogs, currently at Dakin Humane Society in Springfield, were part of a group of more than 30 that were recently rescued. Some of the other dogs are receiving medical care before they are ready for adoption.
The beagles currently ready for adoption include Bert, an approximately 6-year-old male; Ernie, an approximately 4-year-old male; and Shirley, an approximately 6-year-old female.
According to Dakin, because animals coming from overcrowded situations frequently experience medical or behavioral challenges, potential adopters will need to meet certain requirements beyond the typical application process to ensure that they can meet the dogs’ n
