JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) -- More than 800 students in Jefferson County will be ready to start the school year after the Urban Mission's annual Back-to-School Bash took place in downtown Steubenville on Thursday.

For the past 20 years, the Urban Mission has partnered with local agencies to hand out everything from backpacks and notebooks to pencils and crayons.

Jefferson County students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade were able to take part in the event.

No preregistration was required, but children had to be present to pick up supplies.

The event began with a performance by the Big Red Marching Band.
