DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- As the new school year begins, Dayton high schoolers have to find new ways to get to class, but they are getting some help from the community.
Due to recent state law changes, DPS can no longer provide free RTA bus passes to students in grades 9-12. Due to charter school busing requirements, they also cannot provide yellow school bus transportation for high schoolers.
As DPS students and families work to find new ways to get to school, local organizations and groups are raising money to get bus passes into the hands of the kids.
One group are former DPS students themselves -- the Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School graduating class of 1992.
