MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Thomas P. Salmon, Vermont's 75th governor, died this past January. He served two terms as Governor from 1973 to 1977. On Thursday, Vermont's 82nd Governor, Phil Scott, announced that flags in the state will fly at half-staff in his honor.

“Governor Salmon led Vermont through some of our nation's most difficult times, doing his best to stabilize our economy and strengthen trust of government. His efforts on behalf of Vermont are worthy of our gratitude, remembrance, and respect. The thoughts of all Vermonters are with Governor Salmon's family and friends as we celebrate his life," said Scott.
