A Toledo judge has ordered a one-year closing of a North Toledo bar where four people were shot July 6, two of them fatally.
The owners of Agenda Sports Bar at 159 Matzinger Rd. failed to maintain sufficient security to curb criminal activity that culminated with the shooting deaths of Christopher Bourn, 31, and Stefan Garrett, 37, outside the facility, Housing Court Judge Joseph Howe wrote in a ruling dated Wednesday and published Thursday.
“The pattern of serious criminal activity, the prior acknowledgement of problems, the documented harm to neighboring businesses, and the ineffectiveness of owners to control or curtail the activities collectively prove Agenda to be a menace, threat, and hazard to the general health of the community,” Judge Howe wrote in the ruling.
