LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) is set to cut 30 jobs by November due to budget and operational needs, and is expecting to save millions of dollars.
Ashley Whitlow, a spokesperson for ADH, confirmed to 5NEWS that affected employees were notified on Aug. 5 and the role elimination will go into effect Nov. 1, 2025.
These roles include 13 jobs in the Hometown Health Services Program, eight in public health emergency preparedness, six in the Office of Health Disparities Elimination, and three in the Office of Performance Management, Quality Improvement, and Evaluation.
"This decision was made after careful evaluation of budget considerations and operational needs, and to streamline processes and reduce redundancy to improve efficiency," Whitlow said.
