INDIANAPOLIS — Barnes United Methodist Church sits at the heart of the northwest side of Indianapolis — and in a crime hot spot.

The church is home to the Ten Point Coalition and Rev. Charles Harrison.

"This is one of the hot spot areas in the city. The biggest thing that happened prior to the police actually shooting this morning, certainly was the homicide that occurred on 29th Street of a gentleman that occurred over some kind of argument about money," Harrison said.

The Ten Point Coalition focuses on young people between the ages of 18 and 24, but violent crime extends beyond those ages.
