WINNEBAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County Fair is celebrating its 40th year with longtime Rockford radio personality Steve Summers as the master of ceremonies for the county fair pageants, a role he has cherished since the 1980s.

This year, he was honored as the 2025 Fair Person of the Year for his dedication and contributions to the fair.

"Marsha Stavros, who was the pageant coordinator way back in the 80s, reached out to me. And she was one of the ladies that you never said no to, and she got me into it," Summers said.

Summers' voice is familiar to listeners of Rockford radio, as he currently serves as morning host for 95.3 The Bull. He previously worked at 97ZOK and WXXQ.
