A rescue mission in a Scots river is underway amid a large-scale emergency response.
Emergency crews have raced to the River Tay in Perth this evening at around 7.45pm after receiving a report of concern for a person in the water.
Police Scotland have sealed off Tay Street in both directions, from Marshall Place to Canal Street, for motorists and pedestrians as they urge people to avoid the area.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three appliances had been sent to the scene alongside two officers and two rescue boats.
Two helicopters have also been pictured in the sky by locals as crews search the river, with ambulances also being spotted. Article continues below
