NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KOLN) — A federal judge has ruled that a woman detained after the ICE raid at a food processing plant in Omaha must be released from jail after posting bond.
Court records show Judge Joseph Bataillon sided with 52-year-old Floribertha Mayo Anicasio on Thursday, ordering local and federal authorities to release her from their custody. She will just need to re-post a $15,000 bond.
The decision comes after Mayo Anicasio was detained in an ICE raid in June. Shortly after her detention in Lincoln County, she posted bond. Despite that, the Department of Homeland Security filed to keep her in custody.
Mayo Anicasio and her counsel ardently disagreed with the argument and sued earlier this month.
