CHICAGO — Chicago's beaches are known for being pretty packed throughout the summer months, but perhaps none quite like Oak Street Beach at sunrise on Fridays.

Thousands of folks trek to seek a spot in the sand for Pilates.

Olivia Santelli is the pied piper of Pilates and founder of Rise Pilates. She leads one of the largest exercise class Chicago has ever seen.

When Santelli started, it was just her and a handful of friends.

“I was just putting it out to my friends and family on social media and the 12 people that showed up for the first two weeks. I thought that would be every single week of summer,” she said. “And yeah, obviously quite the opposite."

On Week Two, half the beach was full. By Week Five, more than 1,500 showed up.
