NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - From housing affordability to flood resiliency, the North Charleston's 5 year Comprehensive Plan Review could shape how the city grows and develops in the years ahead.

In 2020, the City of North Charleston adopted the PRIME North Charleston Comprehensive Plan. Now, nearly 5 years later, the city met today for the first hearing to review the updated plan.

"There's been a lot of houses being put up, apartment complexes, but the prices have been going up and that's the main problem," said Landon Barton, a North Charleston resident.

As North Charleston has grown over the years, so have the problems like affordable housing, traffic, and flooding, issues many families face each day. Residents express housing is one of the main ones.
