First step in restoration of Chicopee’s ‘crown jewel’ complete

CHICOPEE — The first part of a multimillion dollar project to restore and revitalize a “crown jewel” in Chicopee is complete.

Chicopee Mayor John Vieau, standing Thursday in the amphitheater at a new outdoor classroom in Szot Park, underscored the significance of a city project to upgrade decades-old culverts and ‘daylight’ a stream that goes under the parking lot .
