EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Community members have stepped up to help keep local farmers in Rhode Island afloat after the United States Department of Agriculture cut $1 billion in grants that helped schools, daycares and food pantries buy food from those small farms.
U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is looking for a long-term solution and has introduced a bipartisan bill that would essentially restore the funding that was cut.
